On this tour you will get to see everything from mansions to antiques. To make your trip more enjoyable, wear your most comfortable shoes!
If you are driving to Nyack, plan ahead and bring your bike. Nyack is extremely hospitable to bicyclists so don't worry about finding a place for your bike - racks are everywhere! However, if you don't own a bike, you can rent one for about $40/day at Piermont Bike Connection, 215 Ash Street, Piermont, NY. Just call 845-365-0900 for directions. They are only a five-minute drive from Nyack.
If you are a foodie, catch the farmer's market every Thursday from 8am to 2pm on Main Street in Nyack. You can't miss those white tents!
Check out the Old Village Hall at 134 Main Street, which is now a restaurant. It was built in the 1880s and still has the original tin ceiling and dark woodwork. The old jail still stands at the rear. It was once used mainly to hold drunks until they sobered up.
Before you plan a trip to Nyack, think about the weather! Each season has its perks, but since this is a predominantly walking tour I'd recommend warmer weather. Nyack is also the quintessential holiday town, with numerous shops to find that perfect gift.
