	Birmingham bus day tickets are incredibly cheap (less than the cost of one round-trip) and allow unlimited bus travel when purchased after 9:30 a.m. Buy them on board the bus for travel around Birmingham or to outlying areas, such as Solihull, Coventry, or Stratford-upon-Avon. Exact change is required.
	London Travel Cards offer unlimited travel on buses and the tube. Most travelers won't go beyond central London (Zones 1-2), so don't buy more zones than you need. If you need to travel beyond Zone 2 only once, just add that zone for the day. Travel Cards can be purchased at train and tube stations.
	Most attractions offer discounts to travelers 60 years of age or older. The savings can be substantial. For example, National Express gives 50 percent discounts to seniors. The ticket board may not always say "senior" discount. Look for "concession" or "OAP," for old-age people.
	If Birmingham is your first stop after landing at Heathrow, save time getting there by taking National Coach direct from the airport to central Birmingham. It beats going into central London to catch the train.
	To save money while eating out, look for restaurants that offer special prices on meals ordered before 5:30 p.m. and/or are part of a set course menu. Savings can be as much as 50 percent.
