Paris: A Child's Delight

The city of Paris hardly needs an introduction, but if the thought of carting your children over cobblestone streets and through vast museums fills you with dread, then think again. Paris has an abundance of child-friendly activities that you will enjoy too. This tour will take you to the market to buy picnic supplies: then feast in the gorgeous Luxembourg Gardens. A trip up the Eiffel Tower is a must, as is a day of indulgence for young Picassos that includes a climb to the top of Notre Dame for some gargoyle spying!

Tips in this Tour:
While en route, don’t be afraid to wander down an intriguing alley or enter an enchanting shop. That’s all part of the Parisian charm: you never know where the day is going to take you.
Although Paris is a compact city ideal for strolling, public transport is recommended in some instances to save little legs for the more exciting aspects of your journey. You can buy tickets at all major stations; passes for several days are also available. Be aware that many of the stations require trudging up and down stairs, so if you are using a pram, it’s best to invest in a lightweight one that’s easy to fold up.
Indulge in the simple pleasures of life. Treat yourselves to a divine ice-cream cone, stroll along the river Seine, shop at the market, or relax in the local park.
Despite what you may have heard, the French are friendly people, especially when confronted with the face of a cherub. If a child is well-behaved, that's even better!
Stop at a cafe and sip hot chocolate as you watch people and pooches pass by. Discuss, draw, and photograph what you see. It’s never too early to cultivate the tradition of traveling with a journal, sketchbook, and camera. Keep the results in an album that you will cherish forever.
