The Father Thames awaits you! There is no river on earth with more history. Of the millions of tourists coming to Britain every year, very few will go up the Thames by boat. Instead, they will be driving on the crowded roads we are going to miss. We shall see a wholly different side of the country and enjoy the adventure of boating, through a series of locks, from the capital city to the oldest university city in England. Get ready for a time warp - Jerome K. Jerome's "Three Men In a Boat" of 1889!

Tips in this Tour:
The throng of tourists pushing past you on Westminster Bridge will not be with you on the river, where you will enjoy perfect tranquility.
The boats are easy to handle. Lack of experience is no bar to enjoyment. If you haven't done this before, the boat company staff will give you all the instructions you need.
Travel light but take a good supply of food to cook on the boat, together with paper napkins, toiletries, etc. You will pass through many attractive small towns on the trip where you can replenish your stocks.
Don't forget a waterproof garment for occasions when you may be standing on a quay holding a rope while the lock refills - in pouring rain!
The currency in Britain is pounds sterling. We have not adopted the Euro.
