Historic Cambridge Universities

With an air of quiet sophistication, Cambridge is a major destination for around five million tourists every year. It is full of history, incredible architecture and superb culture, all just 45 minutes from London by train. This historical walking tour takes you to the major universities, including the renowned King's College. You'll see where world-famous inventors, royalty, poets and authors completed their education. You'll have an opportunity to visit a traditional English public house and take a punt ride on the River Cam. Even the kids get to enjoy the fun, as Cambridge is home to The Chronicles of Narnia, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger too!

Tips in this Tour:   Read More
Don't attempt to drive a car into the city center. Parking is difficult and very expensive. Use one of the park-&-ride sites around the edges of the city.
Have plenty of change ready for the buses. Park-&-ride has automated machines so that you can buy your ticket at a discounted price before you get on the bus.
Punting fees are almost always negotiable, so haggle for the best price.
If you want to go inside some of the colleges, check their hours online before you visit. Many are closed during the lunch hour, and most are closed during exams in May and June.
If you need to use the buses for more than one return journey, you can buy an unlimited travel ticket on any bus. A Dayrider can be used anywhere around the city all day and a Megarider can be used for 7 days.
